Stars are not always Like the Sun

Not all the stars are like the sun. If you think of the sun as being roughly the size of a basketball, the range of other stars would go from those the size of a grain of sand to those the size of a large building. Stars come in all brightness, colors, and many very exotic forms.

Amidst all this variety, the sun is a very ordinary star. It is average in its lifetime, its chemical composition and its luminosity. There is absolutely nothing to distinguish it from its brethren in the Milky Way.

Another fact to say is that the sun is middle-aged. It began burning up hydrogen about 4.6 billion years ago and has now gone about half-way through its expected lifetime. In its life expectancy, as in most other things, the sun is a typical sun. See how interesting studying about stars here.
